From time to time, CSNO receives information from various sources regarding audiometry courses, necessary in obtaining a School Nurse Services Credential. CSNO does not recommend one course over another.

Hearing Conservation Program
The California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), Children’s Medical Services (CMS) has implemented a statewide comprehensive Hearing Conservation Program (HCP). The HCP helps to identify hearing loss in preschoolers to 21 years of age in Public Schools and other state supported programs. This online course leads to the Certificate of Registration as a School Audiometrist, granted by the California Department of Health Services, upon successful completion (3 semester units).Public school personnel, school nurses or anyone else interested in becoming a school audiometrist, and administering hearing tests in a school environment should enroll in this course. Work independently to complete the entire course in a 100% online, asynchronous format. Gain knowledge to perform screening and threshold tests.
