There are seven types of membership categories so that joining CSNO is available to nearly everyone.
Active members are registered nurses holding state credentials to practice as school nurses in California. School nurses on leave of absence or engaged in full-time teaching, administration or study or retired, retain their right to active membership. Active members shall have all rights and privileges. Associate members are allied professionals (RN's, LVN's, UAP's) employed by school boards of education, a public agency, a governing board of a private school, or a board of trustees of an institution of higher education. Associate members have all rights and privileges but may not vote or hold elective office. Retired members are school nurses who have held active membership, but are retired. Retired members have all rights and privileges. Student members are registered nurses who are working on the requirements for a clear school nurse credential or those who possess a clear school nurse credential and are pursuing an advanced nursing degree. Membership in this category cannot exceed seven years. Life members may be past State Presidents of CSNO who have retired. Life members shall have all rights and privileges but may not hold elective office. Corporate/Business/ Professional Organizations are persons or Organizations whose members are not eligible for Active or Associate membership in CSNO Member-at-Large are those persons who hold a special interest in or who are working with CSNO and who do not fit into any other CSNO membership classification. Membership Pricing--- All memberships are individual specific. At this time, we do not offer a group membership plan.--- We do not pro-rate the membership fee. Annual membership is from July 1st - June 30 --- Early Bird pricing ends September 30, 2025 --- Auto recurring payments for the membership fee can only be setup with a credit card.
